President Obama gets 64% Voter approval on immigration proposal for undocumented youth
The Bloomberg News National poll shows that President Obama received 64% of approval from registered voters on the deferred action program that grants certain undocumented young individuals, to apply for a SSN and a Driver’s License in periods of two years. While this is not the DREAM Act that originally had bipartisan support and was defeated in the Senate, this is not a Law but a change of policy that will bring temporary relief to those who where brought to the US before the age of 16, have good moral character and have at least a High School Diploma, a GED or serve in the US Military for 2 years. While this is not an immigration amnesty, it helps those young undocumented immigrants to obtain work permits.
