Political analysts are quite busy right now discussing which Presidential candidate had the best plan, and mostly every journalist’s keyboard in America is either reporting or tweeting if Obama made a slam dunk.
While all those experts in body language discuss who of the two candidates blinked more during the whole debate; silently, a big step towards providing Los Angeles residents, both documented or undocumented alike, a City issued document to identify themselves and open bank accounts was approved today.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been promoting a City Issued ID that will be available for both US Citizens, Residents and Immigrants alike, regardless of legal immigration status. This City issued card does not provide any kind of Federal or Social Security benefits. It is a document that will allow the bearers to identify themselves at any county or city facilities, will allow them to open bank accounts or conduct business with any other institutions that require an official ID.
