USCIS announced on January 12, 2021 that it will stop issuing stickers to extend the validity of expired Permanent Resident Cards (“green cards”) while applications for renewal are pending. Instead, the new version of the receipt notice (form I-797) that you will receive after filing form I-90 to renew your green card will serve as proof that your status as a Lawful Permanent Resident is extended for 12 months following the date of expiry on your green card. The full notice from USCIS can be found here:  https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/USDHSCISINVITE/2021/01/12/file_attachments/1646677/Stakeholder%20Message%20-%20USCIS%20to%20Replace%20Sticker%20That%20Extends%20Validity%20of%20Green%20Cards.pdf
