As one of his Day 1 actions, President Joe Biden signed an executive order to strengthen and protect the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The executive order instructs the Secretary of Homeland Security to take appropriate actions to fortify the DACA program.

DACA holders are currently eligible to apply for work permits, as well as travel documents (advance parole) when there is a compelling need to travel outside the United States.
